The Kingsmen Barbershop Harmony Chorus do a great deal of Charity Work. We love using the gift of music to help others. Over the years, we have helped many non-profit organisations to raise funding in excess of £60,000 in order to assist their cause. We like to think that we are tuned in to the needs of our community, and we like to know that our community is tuned in to us!

Charities we have helped recently include Victim Support, the BBC Chestnut Appeal, Help the Aged, Families for Children, Save the Children, Cancer Research, Mencap. We sing for pleasure, but the greatest pleasure we get from our singing is when we know we can really make a difference whilst making music! Why not watch out for our next event, and come along?

Our last Charity Event was "Devon Sings" in aid of Children in Need. This new venture was initiated in partnership by the Rotary Clubs of Devon and BBC Radio Devon.  On 9th September 2008 – the day of Widecombe Fair – people throughout Devon were invited to each pay £1 to take part in a mass singing of the Widecombe Fair folk song, (Uncle Tom Cobbley). Every pound raised is donated to the BBC charity, “CHILDREN IN NEED”.
