Keeping you in the loop ...

Kingsmen's Learn to Sing course ends on a high note!

The Kingsmen have concluded a 6 week Learn to Sing in Harmony FREE course with a concert for the course members families and friends.

The course was a huge success and the course members (and chorus members) have done a fantastic job in learning 4 new songs to the point they were performed in 'a cappella' and without the use of the music sheets.

To celebrate the end of the course, everyone was treated to an afterglow (with excellent pizzas) at the Crabshell Inn.....and some more singing of course!

The concert was an ideal opportunity for chairman Chris Birch to present on behalf of BABS (British Association of Barbershop Singers), a 30 year BABS member badge to our Music Director Roy Hann and 25 year badges to Andrew Vaughan and Graham Palmer.

The mother-in-law of one of the course members (Tim) posted the following message to our chairman and pretty much sums up how effective the course was and how the Kingsmen can reach out and connect to people's emotions!:

"Dear Chris and the Men,

We thoroughly enjoyed tonight. It was totally uplifting.

We came to support Tim who has just started with you and had no idea of the treat on store. Such a great choice of songs beautifully sung and harmonised. The joy was that it was totally absorbing, and so accessible to these particular members of the audience who could echo your message of the love of singing and warble along too.

Your easy enjoyment obviously belied the hard work you all must put in, perfect harmonies not contrived or over fancy - we loved it all. Thank you

Have to confess that we found 'You'll never walk alone' exceptionally moving in spite of being Peterborough United supporters!

Best wishes, Lynda and Michael Rutkowski."
