Serene, Scenic, Spectacular
Some summer evenings simply seem sprinkled with something special and our evening at South Pool was certainly one of them.
Set beside the shimmering creek, with the silent, steadily swelling tide slowly submerging the stepping stones, the setting supplied a simply stunning stage. As sunlight softened into sunset, South Pool showcased its special charm.
Throughout the evening, sweet sounds from the many talented acts swirled gently around the creek, merging with intoxicating aromas from the diverse food stalls to create a magical musical ambience that embraced performers and audience alike. It was one of those rare occasions when the setting and the singing seemed perfectly in sync.
The Kingsmen stepped forward with smiles, spirit and splendid sound. We were singing in the garden of "The Nest", nestled in one of Devon's most beautiful natural settings. Harmony soared across the still water as song after song stirred smiles, sparked singalongs and summoned warm applause. From cherished classics to familiar favourites, the music seemed perfectly suited to such a spectacular setting.
There was laughter, there was lively banter, and there was that special sense of togetherness that makes evenings like this so memorable. Families, friends and first-time listeners shared in the fun, proving once again that music has a wonderful way of bringing people together.
It's often said that singing is one of the healthiest hobbies you can have. It lifts the spirits, exercises the lungs, eases stress and strengthens friendships. Judging by the smiles around South Pool that evening, everyone, singers and audience alike went home feeling just that little bit better.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone who supported the evening, to the organisers whose splendid stewardship made it all possible, and to the superb South Pool audience, whose warmth and wholehearted encouragement lifted every performance. As darkness slowly settled over the creek, the songs may have stopped, but the smiles certainly stayed.
