We are a barbershop harmony chorus based in Kingsbridge in the lovely South Hams of Devon in the UK.

Barbershop is four-part acapella singing, which means we sing in close harmony, unaccompanied.Our aims as the Kingsmen are two fold. Firstly we aim to enjoy our singing. It is what we do as a hobby and we are committed to performing to the best of our ability in an entertaining manner. From our singing we gain tremendous satisfaction, and we also enjoy an unbelievably strong sense of comradeship that we think is quite unique.

Our second aim follows naturally from the first. We want to share our enjoyment of that music. Perform so that our audiences appreciate our efforts and convey that appreciation to us (now that is very special). Then to inspire some of those who hear us to step forward and join us in the joy of song.

We also have a busy performance schedule here in Devon and we love to perform at weddings and fetes etc. We would be delighted to talk to you! Our chorus is mainly made up of people who live in the Kingsbridge area but we also have members from further afield such as Ivybridge, Plymouth and even Torbay.

The Kingsmen are members of the British Association of Barbershop Singers

The Kingsmen Barbershop Harmony Chorus have 20 years of experience singing at local national and International events. We have large repertoire of songs all sung in four part harmony.

In 2012 we were judged to be the premier BABS (British association of Barbershop Singers) chorus in Devon at our National Convention in Southport Lancashire, a placing of which we are very proud. We were judged to be in 10th place out of 39 other competing choruses.

While we are primarily a harmony club the Kingsmen Barbershop Harmony chorus are also very popular at weddings and other events, the whole chorus can be hired for a very reasonable amount, we also have a selection of award winning quartets and an octet among us.
