Keeping you in the loop ...

A small group of Kingsmen, brilliantly led by Ian Wooler, sang at Ivydene Care Home, Ivybridge for the 104th birthday party of Winnie. It was a wonderful and moving celebration of life and a privilege to be part of.
Winnie, fellow residents, friends, family and staff all enjoyed our performance, and special thanks go to Chris, Geoff, Phil, Barrington, Bob, Graham, Peter G, Roger, John Mo and Mike for some wonderful singing and fun engagement with the audience.
Here are some highlights:
- We opened with ‘Let Me Call You Sweetheart’, which Winnie sang along to - a very special moment!
- We sang When I'm 64, but with a twist by changing the words to When I'm 104 for the final bars
- Dressed in our very best Hawaiian shirts we sang and swayed to ‘Under The Boardwalk’, and many thanks to Peter G and Roger for a wonderful Tenor melody
- Razor Sharp (Roger, Phil, Graham and Mike) quartet sang a lovely rendition of ‘Ain't Misbehavin'
- Kingsmen Chairman Chris Birch presented Winnie with a birthday card and Kingsmen brooch on behalf of all of the Kingsmen
- Winnie, fellow residents, friends, family and staff joined us in singing ‘Bring Me Sunshine’ (that’s Ian doing the classic Morecombe & Wise impersonation), ‘Swing Low Sweet Chariot’, ‘When The Saints’ and ‘My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean’
- A wonderful and moving performance of ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ brought our performance toward it's end.
Thanks to Ian Wooler for the resume, photographs by John Morris.
